Trip to Limassol
Today was an incredibly busy and fulfilling day. We had to wake up very early for our field trip to Limassol. I got up at 5:00 AM, prayed, and prepared for the day. We had breakfast at the hotel and were ready to leave around 7:30 to 7:45 AM.
Our first stop was an amphitheater that had been rebuilt and was historically used for various events, including animal fights. The acoustics were fascinating; if you stood at the center and spoke, your voice could be heard clearly in the seats. Before visiting the amphitheater, we viewed detailed mosaics. The view from the amphitheater was breathtaking. I could see fields stretching all the way to the coastline and extending far into the distance.
Next, we visited a large castle with steep steps. Afterward, we headed into the city of Limassol, where we saw another castle and had some time to shop. I really enjoyed Limassol and bought a couple of scarves for my mom. Before reaching Limassol, we drove through the British Sovereign Area, which was quite interesting to see.
For lunch, we ate at a restaurant called Stou Kir Yianni in Omodos village. This meal was probably my favorite since arriving in Cyprus. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was charming. While in Omodos, we walked around and explored. We also witnessed a baptism, which was fascinating for me since I had never seen one before.
After Omodos, we got in the van and went to Linos Winery, which was only a few minutes away. Although I couldn't participate in the wine tasting, I loved the view and didn't want to leave. To pass the time, I played cards with Anya, Amya, and Rupa.
Our last stop of the day was Aphrodite's Rock. The wind made it difficult to take good pictures of people, but I managed to capture some nice shots of the rock itself. Everyone enjoyed skipping rocks on the beach, which was primarily composed of stones and pebbles rather than sand.
When we got back to Paphos, I briefly went to the beach, then came back to the hotel for dinner and tea. Exhausted from the long but enjoyable day, I took a shower and went straight to sleep Our trip to Limassol was filled with new experiences and beautiful sights.
