After class, I returned to the apartment to work on my assignments.

At five, my roommates and I decided to take a break and walked down to the boardwalk and the castle to see if we could get in and view the top. At the ticket booth, I asked if they had student discounts. The man at the booth informed us that with our student IDs, we could enter for free. We showed him our BUCKIDs and received our tickets.

Exploring the castle was fascinating. It is thousands of years old and was used during wartime. We saw cells that were used to hold prisoners and rooms located higher up, which were inaccessible from the ground. We asked the man at the ticket booth about the rooms, who explained that they were used by residents of the castle as private chambers. They likely used rope ladders to access these rooms and would pull the ladders up once inside to prevent others from entering. The view from the top of the castle was impressive.

After our castle visit, we wandered along the boardwalk and did some gift shopping. We came across an arts and crafts fair, where I found beautiful handmade earrings and a necklace for my sister. The jewelry was crafted out of leather and shaped like flowers. I also bought glass figurines for my friends. We continued shopping at the souvenir shops, where I picked up bookmarks and coin purses as additional gifts.

We decided to stop at Pizza Hut to eat dinner. My roommate and I shared a margherita pizza. Afterward, Rupa went home while Anya and I had Frozen Scoops ice cream and briefly visited a couple more stores.

By the time we got home, I was exhausted. I took a quick shower and went straight to bed.
