Following class, I went to the mall with some of my peers. I didn’t buy anything but enjoyed exploring. Rupa and I then visited The Deck, a café on the boardwalk, where we tried Cyprus coffee and Mahalepi. The Cyprus coffee was good in my opinion and tasted like regular coffee but a bit more strong. I did not, however, like the Mahalepi. Mahalepi is a jelly-like dessert made with water or milk and corn flour. Rose syrup is added on top to add sweetness, and ice is added to keep it chilled. I found that I did not like the texture, so it wasn't for me, but others in my program did like try it and like it. I worked on my readings and papers for class. In the evening, my roommates and I walked to Frozen Scoops for ice cream and bubble waffles, enjoying the view of the sea before running into Dr. Constantinou on the boardwalk and stopping to chat.
