I slept in and later visited Upper Paphos with Rupa. Our taxi driver from Scotland shared his story of moving to Cyprus for its sunny climate. We walked around, took photos, and had gelato at Da Vinci. Shops were closed, which our taxi driver explained was something that Cyprus got from the British. Apparently, shops are closed Wednesday afternoon, Saturday afternoon, and all day Sunday. Our taxi driver back to the apartment was a native Cypriot, and shared his experiences during the Turkish invasion. During the time of the invasion, he was only 9 and was living in Famagusta, but was forced to relocate to Paphos. It was interesting to hear stories from our taxi drivers. I appreciate that in Cyprus, having conversations with strangers is normal, and everyone just seems a bit more social than in America, where everyone keeps their head down on their phone and stays to themselves.

I had dinner with my roommates at Pizza Hut, which was surprisingly fancy compared to the US, and we ended the day by heading back to our apartment to rest.
